Assistant-manager Danny Webb praised Boreham Wood’s quality ahead of this weekend’s National League fixture at the Technique Stadium.
Speaking to the media, he said: “Everyone has good battles with Boreham Wood. They are a team similar to Bromley that keep going right to the end.
“They’ve signed some good players, attacking players. On Tuesday at Dagenham, they brought two forwards off near enough at the same time and brought two forwards on.
“Attacking-wise, I think they are stronger than last year. They are going to be strong with that three at the back.
“It’s going to be a good atmosphere. They are going to be strong; they are going to be up for it. We’ve just got to make sure, like every game, that we turn up and do our bit.”
Webb spoke about the demand for home wins and why the game against Boreham Wood will be important for the squad’s ambitions.
Webb said: “Whether we had won or lost at York, beat or lose to Bromley here, our focus doesn’t change on Boreham Wood at home.
“Our supporters and ourselves demand nothing less than a home win because of the size of the club and where we want to go this season.
“We’ll be looking for a win; we’re level on points. Luke [Garrard] is a mate of mine and he’s done well there over the years.
“All of that goes out of the window on Saturday because we’ve got to send them packing with the defeat. Hopefully, we can then get back into that top three.”
The Spireites gained a second draw in three away matches with a 1-1 stalemate with York City during midweek.
Webb stressed the importance of the away point and why it can be important come the end of the season.
He said: “I think we are all a little disappointed how it flattened out a bit in the second half. We allowed them to have a couple of really good chances.
“To be successful, if you win at home and get points away, in the long run, it usually works out that you’ve had a very successful season.
“Points win prizes and it’s about points and nothing else that get you out of this league.”
