James Rowe attended an online Q&A session with sports journalism students from the University of Derby.
The Spireites boss faced a series of questions, largely focusing on his background and approach to management.
Commenting afterwards, James said: “I enjoyed taking part in the online session. There were some good questions from the students – it was clear they had done their research!
“We have an excellent relationship with the University of Derby and I look forward to speaking to the students again at some point in the future.”
Lecturer Niall Hickman, who hosted the event, said: “James Rowe delivered a passionate blueprint for how he is hoping to bring success to Chesterfield FC, which we would all wish to see for such a famous old club.
“The University of Derby students could not speak highly enough of the Spireites manager after the interview session online. The club now has a new set of supporters.
“On behalf of the students, I’d like to thank James for his time and willingness to answer every question candidly. It was a very inspirational session.”
The link-up with the university has led to a number of students assisting with the club’s media output, providing written content for the website, social media channels and matchday programme, as well as video coverage of home matches.
