John Pemberton lamented the problems caused by protocols in place as a result of the current pandemic following the 1-0 defeat at home to Guiseley on Saturday afternoon.
Anyone who shows symptoms of the virus has to stay away from the club until a negative test result is received, forcing Kyle Letheren to miss the match and hampering preparations.
Commenting on the issue, Pemberton said: “With the way things are at the moment, anyone with symptoms of a cough or cold or whatever, we have to have them tested. The problem we’ve got with that is that they can’t come in until the test is negative.
“This is going to be the problem through the season because we’re coming into an environment now where people are going to get common colds but we have to be tested because we have to make sure it’s not Covid. It’s a nightmare.”
Reflecting on his team’s display, the Spireites boss said: “It was a lot better performance regards energy…we’re getting better.”
