There will be a minute’s applause in memory of Ernie Moss before tomorrow’s pre-season friendly at home to Port Vale, which kicks off at 3pm.
A minute’s applause was held before the midweek game against Bradford City. It was felt that as Ernie also played for Port Vale during his distinguished career, a similar tribute would take place to allow both sets of supporters to honour him.
A photograph of Ernie features on the front of the programme which covers all three home pre-season fixtures and a montage of photos will be shown on the big screen during the minute’s applause.
Ernie’s funeral service will take place next Friday. After a lap of honour at the Technique Stadium, followed by a minute’s applause at 3pm, the service will be held at Chesterfield Crematorium at 3.10pm.
