The Spireites made it a record-breaking 18 consecutive home victories in a row, with an emphatic 3-0 win over Southend United.
A first-half rocket from James Berry and second-half goals from substitutes Joe Quigley and Armando Dobra meant that the Spireites secured all three points, further cementing their place at the top of the National League table.
Paul Cook made four changes from the team that beat Woking on Tuesday night, with Michael Jacobs, James Berry, Ryheem Sheckleford and Bailey Clements coming into the starting XI.
The Spireites took the lead in the fourth minute thanks to a fantastic strike from Berry. He picked up the ball on the left-hand side, cut in, and struck the ball into the back of the net, hitting the underside of the crossbar as it went in.
Southend came close to levelling the score when Marcus Dackers headed the ball towards goal, capitalising on Harry Tyrer failing to claim a cross, but his header was superbly cleared off the line by Tyrone Williams.
The Spireites went into half-time with a 1-0 lead.
The Spireites came close early in the second half when Berry fizzed the ball across the box to Will Grigg, but the ball narrowly evaded the striker’s feet, despite his best efforts.
Liam Mandeville had a chance from just inside the box, after getting a shot away, which was well parried by the keeper diving to his right.
Soon after, the Spireites doubled their lead in the 74th minute through substitute Quigley. Dobra forced a great save from Collin Andeng Ndi, which was parried out into the path of Quigley who was there to knock the ball home.
Dobra made it three for the Spireites in the 80th minute. Jacobs threaded the ball into the path of Dobra inside the box and he smashed the ball into the top corner, beating the keeper at his near post.
After this impressive victory, attention will now turn to next Saturday’s away trip to Eastleigh.
