Wrexham FC – Away Supporters Coach directions & information 2021/22

From North,

Exit the A483 at Junction 5 signpost ‘Wrexham A541’.  

On to roundabout take exit following signs for ‘Wrexham’ and Football Ground.

Take the middle lane exiting the first roundabout forward onto second roundabout taking second exit.

The ground is on the left-hand side after 0.2 miles.

From East

Follow A534 into Wales along Wrexham Road.

At the first roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted Wrexham, at the second roundabout take the 3rd exit and carry along the dual carriageway to next roundabout. 

Take the 2nd exit signposted for Chester/Oswestry.

Travel straight across the next roundabout.

This will bring you to a large traffic light controlled roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted A483 Oswestry.

On the A483 take the first exit (Junction 5) signpost ‘Wrexham A541’ and ‘Football Stadium’. 

Take 1st exit towards the Town Centre.

Take the middle lane forward onto second roundabout taking second exit.

The ground is on the left-hand side after 0.2 miles

Away Supporter Coach Parking at Wrexham Football Club.

Supporter Coaches will be directed to park within Glyndwr University which is adjacent to the Stadium LL11 2AW .

Traffic Commissioners guidelines –

The Traffic Commissioners’ Guidelines, together with the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol) Act 1985, as amended by the Public Order Act 1986, prohibits alcohol on a vehicle which :-

is either a public service vehicle or a vehicle adapted to carry more than 8 passengers (i.e., mini – bus) and ;

is being used for the principal purpose of carrying passengers for the whole or part of a journey to or from a designated sporting event.

Coach Operators are reminded to keep to the following new guidelines when carrying supporters to and from football matches :-

1. Coaches are not to stop within 10 miles of the venue either on route to or from the event unless prior agreement is obtained from the local Police Liaison Officer.

2. Unless directed otherwise by a Police Officer, coaches may not stop at premises where intoxicating liquor is sold unless it is sold as ancillary to a substantial meal.

3. Coaches are to arrive at the venue no earlier than two hours before and not later than one hour before kick-off.

4. Coaches are not to set down or uplift passengers at any unauthorised locations without prior permission of the police.

5. Coaches must leave the venue within one hour of the finish of the event

The Commissioner has powers to attach conditions to Operators’ Licences in relation to journeys to and from football matches, but prefers to rely on co-operation between Operators and Police. 

The Police have been asked to notify the Commissioner of any incidents where the guidelines have not been followed so that he may consider whether any conditions should be imposed.

Car Parking:

Car parking for travelling supporters can normally be accommodated near the ground off the Mold Road at either Glyndwr University car park or the Maesgwyn Hall car park signposted as FOOTBALL PARKING. 

(Both charge a small fee £3).  

Please be aware of a Residents Only Zone in the streets around the ground, check signposts for any restriction information. Parking wardens may be in the area on the day.

Bus

From the bus station in the centre of town, head towards the prominent multi-storey car park and turn right along the Mold Road.

The ground is located half a mile along this road, on the right hand side. 

Train  – No return service to Chesterfield after the game

There are 2 railways stations in Wrexham:

            Wrexham General which is on the main Shrewsbury to Chester line.

           It is managed by Arriva Trains but also has services from Virgin.

           Wrexham General Railway station is located directly next to the ground.

            Wrexham Central which is the Southern Terminus for the Wrexham-Bidston line. It is not staffed and is managed by Arriva Trains.
