Webb says the Spireites are ‘up for the fight’ ahead of replay

Assistant manager Danny Webb belives that the Spireites will be ‘up for the fight’ when they take on West Bromwich Albion in their Emirates FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday night.

Speaking to the media, he said: “I think the approach will be that we will set the team up to win the game. We’re lucky with whoever you put in, you know is not going to let us down.

“They’ve had a massive game at Luton, and they’ve got a massive game on Friday. I don’t know what Carlos will do with his selection.

“Whatever team they put out will be strong, but they are certainly going to come up against a Chesterfield side that are up for the fight.”

Chesterfield have a busy week which culminates with a game against National League leaders Notts County on Saturday.

Webb spoke about having two massive games in a short amount of time and if that could affect team selection going into the fixtures.

“To most people, if you ask them what the bigger game for our season is, it would probably be Saturday against Notts County,” Webb said.

“That’s certainly not making our mind up to do something different for the selection of players against West Brom.

“A lot of these lads have waited a long time in their careers to play at a place like The Hawthorns. Whatever changes we do or don’t make certainly won’t affect our view on the game which is to go and win.”

Ryan Colclough joined the Spireites last week from Altrincham for an undisclosed fee and added to the already potent attack currently at the club.

The winger has already impressed in his short time at the Technique Stadium according to Webb and the coach is looking forward to what Colclough can deliver on the pitch.

Webb said: “For people that have followed his career especially over the last two years at Altrincham, his goal contributions, assists and all-round skill will be much anticipated from our fans.

“He’s always a player that when teams play against Altrincham, you highlight as their biggest threat, and rightly so.

“The manager worked with him a few years ago at Wigan. He knows his qualities and he has shown them on his first few days here.

“He is Cup-tied for tomorrow, but he is available for Notts County [on Saturday].”
