On Salford City
Salford City were taken over by former Manchester United players Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes in 2014, each owning a 10% stake in the club, with Singaporean businessman Peter Lim owning the rest. Former England international David Beckham purchased a 10% share from Lim in 2019.
The club are well renowned because of their famous owners, who have taken them from the realms of non-league, all the way to the Football League. In 2019, Salford beat AFC Fylde in the final of the National League play-offs, gaining promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history, where they have been ever since.
Salford currently sit 11th in League Two and will be hoping they can gain promotion to the third tier.
