JR: “I’m really enjoying working with this group”

James Rowe is happy with his side’s 100 per cent start to the season but he insists they are not getting carried away after winning all three games so far.

Speaking to the media ahead of Saturday’s game at home to Bromley, he said: “I’m pleased with the start but it’s only three games. We’re learning all the time and we want to improve.

“There are going to be more challenges along the way. It’s a long arduous season in the National League.

“I’m really enjoying working with this group. Their training is impressive – the way they’re training, the intensity and the culture of the place, including the staff.

“First and foremost, the players need to buy-in to what you’re doing, and they’ve certainly done that.

“We’ve got a good group here and they understand that if they don’t play or even if they’re in the stands or they’re on the bench, they can come straight into the team.”

Like Chesterfield, Bromley reached the play-offs last season and Rowe knows they will provide his team with a tough test.

“It’s a big challenge for us and we’re taking it very seriously,” he said. “You have to respect every opponent.

“It should be a cracking game for the neutral and a good advert for the National League.

“We’re going in with good momentum and we just focus on the next opponent.”

Rowe revealed that all members of the squad, apart from long-term absentees, are available for selection.
