The club was founded back in 1892 and they have spent their years floating around the non-league pyramid. They were promoted to the National League in 2015 after being crowned champions and have been there ever since.

In 2015 Bromley also reached the final of the FA Trophy, where they lost 5–4 on penalties to Brackley Town. In 1938 the club moved to the current Hayes Lane ground. The record attendance of 10,798 was set during a unique game against a Nigeria XI in September 1948.

This season Bromley sit comfortably in fifth position, having won, drawn and lost the exact same number of games as the Spireites. Whilst sitting on the same points, the two clubs also have the same goal difference.
