On Dover
Dover Athletic have recently switched to a part-time football club. The club was formed in 1983 after the dissolution of the town’s previous club, Dover FC, whose place in the Southern League was taken by the new club.
They started this season on -12 points, after being penalised by the National League for not completing last season’s fixture list. The team only played 15 fixtures, with none played after 30 January 2021, as staff were furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the club couldn’t turn this season around and have been relegated from the National League. They will compete in the National League South next season.
One to watch
Myles Judd is a 23-year-old centre-back who has played for the likes of Leyton Orient and Barnet. This season he has made nine appearances for Dover after joining the club in early 2022.
