Akwasi Asante made his first start for the Spireites in over nine months last time out, the striker will be hoping for more minutes on the pitch tomorrow.

Curtis Weston was pulled off at half-time against Halifax and James Rowe said it was the “wrong decision” to start him, due to him still feeling the effects of his recent Covid-19 infection, the midfielder will be hoping to start but could potentially be on the bench dependant on his fitness.

Jamie Grimes dropped to the bench on Tuesday, he will be hoping to get back into the starting XI as soon as possible.

On King’s Lynn Town

The club was established in 2010 after King’s Lynn F.C. were wound up in 2009. The new club fought their way back through the football pyramid and made their way up to the National League North in 2019 after being promoted through the play-offs.

The 2019/20 National League North season was abandoned due to the coronavirus pandemic with the club second in the league, two points behind leaders York City, with two games in hand. After the National League announced the table would be decided on a point-per-game basis, King’s Lynn were subsequently promoted to the National League.

Last season they finished in 21st position, which would normally see them relegated, but due to the null/void National League North/South season, there were no relegation spots for the National League, meaning they would compete in the fifth tier of English football once again. Despite their poor league finish, they made it all the way to the Second Round Proper of the FA Cup, where they were defeated 6-1 at Portsmouth. It was the first time the club had made it to the First Round Proper in their history.

One to watch

Tyler Denton, who spent time as a Spireite last campaign, is known for his pace down the flanks. The left-back can deliver a great cross, which can provide as a threat in attacking phases. The 25-year-old is also switched on defensively and has played for several clubs in the English Football League such as Stevenage, Port Vale and Leeds United.

The Spireites’ last three: (W/W/D)

Won – Salford City 0-2 Chesterfield – FA Cup

Won – Grimsby Town 0-1 Chesterfield – National League

Drew – Spireites 1-1 Halifax – National League

The Linnets’ last three: (W/L/W)

Won – King’s Lynn Town 2-1 Dover Athletic – National League

Lost – Halifax 2-0 King’s Lynn Town – National League

Won – King’s Lynn Town 2-1 Nantwich Town – FA Trophy

The last time the Spireites faced King’s Lynn Town, the Blues came away with a two-nil victory.
