Spireites defender Laurence Maguire believes that Yeovil Town will provide a physical threat in Saturday’s fixture, which is live on BT Sport.
Speaking to the media, he said: “They’re going to be physical; they play direct. They’ll come here and try and frustrate us. We put in a good performance away from home at the start of the season.
“We’ll take a lot of that into the game. Hopefully we can put in a performance like we did in the first half [against Wrexham] and score a couple of goals.
“It’s just another game. We’ll prepare exactly the same. It’s in front of the TV cameras and there will be people watching around the world.
“It’s a little different especially with the 5:20pm kick-off instead of the 3pm kick-off but we’ll prepare completely the same and we’ll be ready to go.”
Maguire is the only player to have been included in a matchday squad during Paul Cook’s last stint as Chesterfield manager.
The 25-year-old is relishing the chance to work with Cook as well and believes his experience will continue to help the squad.
“He’s been brilliant,” Maguire said. “It was a strange situation for him to come into. He’s got a squad that’s doing really well and as you could see on Tuesday night, I thought we were terrific first half. The second half is football – it happens.
“He’s an experienced manager to have around the place. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work for him.”
The last week has been a tough one for the Spireites as they have lost ground on leaders Stockport County. However, Maguire insists that their title push is not over yet.
He said: “I still believe. We’ve still got a lot of games to play. There will be points dropped and there will be points gained.
“You’ve got to concertante on your own game and at the moment, we’re looking at ourselves and we don’t look at any other results. Hopefully we can start that tomorrow night with three points at home against Yeovil.”
