Joe Rowley has made a couple of appearances from the bench in recent weeks. The midfielder looked a bright spark when he came onto the pitch on Tuesday night and he will be hoping he has done enough to earn a place in the starting line-up.
Tom Denton missed out on Tuesday due to a sore ankle, Danny Webb suggested the striker could be in the fold to return for this weekend’s game.
Laurence Maguire was named Man of the Match after scoring two goals and putting in a magnificent defensive display on Tuesday night. The defender will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Akwasi Asante grabbed his fifth goal of the season last time out and he will be hoping to hit double figures by the end of the campaign.

On Southend United
Southend are an established English football club, with over 100 years of competitive football to their name. They won a double promotion back in 2004/2005 & 2005/2006, which earned the club a place in the Championship, where they spent one season before being instantly relegated back down to League One. After financial difficulty, the club suffered back-to-back relegations, and were relegated to the National League last season, after a 101-year stay in the Football League.
One to watch
Rhys Murphy is a 30-year-old striker, who has played for several different clubs, including Preston North End, Gillingham, Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town. He scored 29 goals in 58 appearances for Yeovil, before signing for Southend at the start of this season.
