The Spireites suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 2-1 at home to Maidenhead United.
Goals from Koby Arthur and Ashley Nathaniel-George secured the win for Maidenhead. Tyrone Williams grabbed a consolation for the Spireites in added time.
The Spireites dominated possession in the opening ten minutes, however failed to create any clear-cut chances.
Ollie Banks had a speculative effort from around 25 yards, following a freekick, however his attempt went over the bar.
Banks had another chance for the Spireites after his drove into the box beating three men, his attempt was turned behind for a corner.
Emile Acquah had a chance for Maidenhead after getting onto a long ball, sending him through on goal, but he could only drag his shot wide.
Maidenhead took the lead in the 45th minute when Arthur managed to get in behind the Spireites defence and slot the ball past Lucas Covolan.
The Spireites went into half time trailing 1-0.
Nathaniel-George forced a great save from Covolan after driving through the centre and shooting from the edge of the box.
Nathaniel-George doubled Maidenhead’s lead in the 49thminute after getting a shot away on inside the box on the left-hand side, beating Covolan.
Darren Oldaker came close to grabbing a goal back for the Spireites from a free kick, however Dan Gyollai made a great save, tipping the ball onto the post.
The Spireites came close again when the ball fell to the feet of Williams, following a corner, but both his attempts were blocked.
Shawn McCoulsky came close to grabbing a third for Maidenhead when he broke away from the Spireites defence, getting a shot away and forcing a fantastic save from Covolan.
Williams pulled a goal back for the Spireites in added time, heading the ball home, following a corner.
The Spireites’ attention will now turn to next Tuesday’s home fixture against Dagenham & Redbridge.
