Following the confirmation of the 2024/25 retained list, we take a look at the players departing the SMH Group Stadium at the expiry of their contracts…
Darren Oldaker
Oldaker joined the club in the summer of 2022 from Dorking Wanderers and quickly became a fans’ favourite. His first season saw four goals in 46 appearances – including one in the National League play-off semi-final victory over Bromley.
The following campaign, he scored twice and bagged five assists across 29 games. His contributions helped the Spireites to the National League title and a return to the Football League.
In Chesterfield’s first year back in the EFL, Oldaker scored four times with all goals coming from free-kicks. The 26-year-old made 40 appearances as the club made the League Two play-offs.

Michael Jacobs
Jacobs joined the club on the eve of the 2023/24 season, linking up with Paul Cook for a second time, after they were previously together at Wigan Athletic. The attacking midfielder scored six times over the course of 44 games to help the Spireites to the National League title.
The 33-year-old has played 25 times during this campaign and scored once, against Barrow in March. He also provided two assists, with those coming in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Horsham.

Kane Drummond
The forward became the first signing of the summer for the Spireites last year, joining from Macclesfield. He spent time out on loan during the season at National League side Oldham Athletic.
Drummond played 21 times for the Spireites in all competitions, with his one goal coming in the 3-0 home win against Tranmere Rovers in December.

Ali Mohiuddin
Mohiuddin, a product of the Chesterfield FC academy, made his first-team debut in December 2023, scoring in the 6-1 FA Trophy win against Southport. He also came on in the 2-0 defeat to Welling United in the next round.
In the summer of 2024, alongside Liam Jessop and Ashton Rinaldo, the youngster signed his first professional contract at the SMH Group Stadium.
This season, the midfielder made two appearances for Chesterfield in the EFL – both games came in the Vertu Trophy group stage. He also made the bench in League Two against Bradford City in December.
