The academy will be travelling to Gibraltar in August for a training camp as part of their pre-season preparations.

As part of their pre-season training camp in Gibraltar, the academy will be playing four matches against Gibraltar’s men’s youth teams:

• August 3/7 v Gibraltar U19s
• August 5 v Gibraltar U17s
• August 9 v Gibraltar U21s.

All four matches will take place at the Victoria Stadium with 7pm kick-offs.

Gibraltar FA general secretary Ivan Robba said: “We are thrilled to welcome Chesterfield FC’s academy to Gibraltar for a pre-season training camp. We are delighted that they are not only playing four matches against our youth men’s national teams, but they will also be staying and training on the Rock next month.

“Chesterfield’s academy will provide valuable opposition for our men’s youth national teams who are preparing hard for their upcoming internationals in the autumn, and we hope that they can enjoy Gibraltar’s sporting facilities as they prepare for the new footballing season.”

Justin Tellus, the academy’s head of recruitment & development, said: “It is a real honour to be invited and hosted by the Gibraltar Football Association.

“The pre-season training camp will provide our young players with the ideal training and games programme for the important development season ahead.

“On behalf of everyone at the Chesterfield FC academy, I would like to thank the GFA for their amazing support and assistance. They are providing us with superb facilities and the opportunity for our young players to play against a national youth team set up abroad for the first time in our academy’s history.”
