Away day guide: AFC Fylde

Supporters’ Forum member Luke Searston provide the following away day guide for Saturday’s trip to AFC Fylde…

What kit are we in?
The lads will be in the usual blue home shirt with blue shorts and blue socks.

What’s the ticket information?
Seated tickets are £20 adults/£10 juniors (U18), whilst standing tickets are £16 adults/£8 Juniors (U18). Tickets are not currently available.

How do I get to the ground?
The address for the ground is Mill Farm Sports Village, Coronation Way, Wesham, PR4 3JZ. Some Sat Nav systems ask you to turn right at the end of the M55 Junction 3 slip road, but the ground is to the left.

Please note that on the same day, Sunderland are playing at Preston and there is the Blackpool Airshow which, last year, attracted around 250,000 visitors over the weekend, so please factor this into your travelling time.

What stand are we in?
Chesterfield fans will be housed in the south terrace where around 1,000 supporters can be accommodated. Town fans have also been allocated seating in block A of the main stand.

When do turnstiles open?
Turnstiles open between 1pm to 1.30pm.

Where can I park?
There is a fair sized car park at the stadium which costs £5. There is also an Aldi next to the ground which has a time limit for the car park, so parking there may see you receive a parking fine. Aside from that, there are a couple of car parks in the centre of Kirkham, which is just over a mile away from the ground.

What is the nearest train station to the ground?
The nearest train station is ‘Kirkham and Wesham’ which has a direct service to and from Blackpool. It is around 0.7 mile away from the ground.

Pubs for away fans?
At the ground there is the Bradley Sports Bar which sadly has been allocated to home fans only for the weekend’s match.  The nearest alternative is Lanes End Hotel on Weeton Road, which is around a ten-minute walk away from the ground. This pub serves food and also shows Sky Sports.

A good number of Spireites will be staying in Blackpool for the weekend and heading there before the game. Obviously in Blackpool, you are spoilt for choice in terms of pubs!

Is food and drink available?
Yes, the usual offering of pies, sausages roll etc are available in the ground along with the usual hot and cold drinks. Last season’s prices were: Steak & Ale Pies (£3.75), Meat & Potato Pies (£3.50), Cheese & Onions Pies (£3.50), Cheeseburgers (£3.50), Burgers (£3.25), Hot Dogs (£3), Jumbo Sausage Rolls (£3) and Chips (£1.75). Alcohol is on offer in the concourse in the main stand.

Next to the ground where the Aldi is, there is a KFC. Opposite KFC i is a Burger King and a Starbucks, so plenty of choices for food and drink in and around the ground.

Can I get a matchday programme?
Yes, programmes will be available, priced at £3.
