Chesterfield FC Women extended their unbeaten run to six following a 3-1 victory at Osset United Ladies on Sunday afternoon.
It was a scrappy first ten minutes until Chloe Foster capitalised on a great chance to put the Blues ahead.
It was all Chesterfield for the remainder of the half and on the brink of half-time Butterworth doubled their lead.
Osset came out the brighter side in the second half and they were rewarded with a goal to spark their hopes of making a comeback.
However, the Spireites did not back down and stepped up another gear and in the 71st minute Butterworth added to her tally, claiming her second goal of the game to wrap up the three points.
After losing at home to Ossett earlier in the season, manager Andrea Parkinson was delighted to see how far the Spireites have come since then.
She said: “It was another excellent performance. I wanted the players to dominate the ball and really show we could compete and I feel we did that today. I couldn’t be prouder with how this side are progressing.”
