Chesterfield FC Women prepare for season opener

Chesterfield FC Women get their new campaign underway on Sunday when they welcome Anstey Nomads Women to their new home, Debdale Park Sports and Recreation Club in Mansfield Woodhouse.

Following an exciting summer of change, the club is now under the same affiliation as the Chesterfield men’s team. Chesterfield FC Women will be competing in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League for the 2025/26 season.

The Spireites have welcomed a host of fresh faces in recent weeks ahead of the new season.

New Additions

There has been plenty of work going on behind the scenes in pre-season, and numerous new players are taking the step up into the first team.

We are delighted to announce that Shanelle Ashtei and Lucy Graham have been promoted to first-team duties, having impressed in the junior ranks.

Also making their way into Pete Jarvis’ side for the upcoming season is Elin Morin, who stood out to scouts at a recent event. Another who impressed at a recent trial is Laura Porritt, and she too will be involved with the first team.

The Opponents

Last season, Anstey Nomads finished in seventh place in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League, just one place above the relegation zone.

In the two meetings between the sides, Chesterfield held a slight advantage, winning once and drawing once.

The away fixture was a 1-1 draw, while Chesterfield comfortably won the home fixture 3-0.
