Much praise has been received by the club following the staging of last week’s England U20 international match at the Technique Stadium.
Over 6,000 fans were there to watch the Young Lions play out a 1-1 draw against their Italian counterparts on Thursday night.
The attendance was significantly higher than the estimated figure and FA officials praised the club’s handling of the fixture.
A report in the Italian media referred to the “spectacular setting” and Italy U20 coach Alberto Bollini said the match was played “in a beautiful atmosphere”.
England U20 coach Andy Edwards was thoroughly impressed with the facilities and the attendance.
“I don’t think we could’ve asked for more really,” he said. “We thought it was going to be good and that’s why we approached the club to see if they’d consider hosting us.
“It certainly didn’t let us down. The pitch was in excellent condition. It’s a lovely modern ground. It’s got a real football feel to it and to get over 6,000 was excellent.”
Spireites chief executive John Croot added: “It was a real privilege to host both England and Italy – two fantastic footballing nations. It was a great game with some really exciting young talent from both countries on show and a great attendance.
“The work that the staff did, working with the FA, was tremendous. We filled all sides of the stadium and it was a memorable night.
“There were so many kids amongst the crowd and hopefully they’ve liked what they have seen.
“Hopefully they’ll come back and watch a Chesterfield game soon because we are playing some exciting football ourselves at the moment. It would be great to see everybody back.”
