Golf day to remember John Duncan

A reminder that a golf day is taking place this summer in memory of former Chesterfield manager John Duncan, who passed away last October at the age of 73.

The event, at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre in Nottinghamshire, is being organised by Narinder Chopra, who was a friend of John’s for many years.

The pair initially formed a friendship as neighbours and regularly played golf together. Narinder came up with the idea of a golf day as a fitting way of paying tribute to John.

Ten current and former managers have already signed-up to play and a host of retired players who played under John are also set to attend.

The golf day will take place on Friday, June 9 and the entry fee is £65, which includes bacon butties with tea/coffee, followed by a meal after the round of golf. Various prizes will also be available to win.
