Gordon Hollinshead

We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of lifelong supporter Gordon Hollinshead at the age of 84.

Gordon was a season ticket holder for many years, until mobility issues in recent years prevented him from attending in person. In spite of that, he continued to support the club from home and was so impressed by the turnaround in the last year and with the squad being assembled by James Rowe and his team.

Gordon was in attendance for some of the club’s greatest achievements, including the FA Cup semi-final appearance in 1997, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win in 2012 and at the 1995 play-off final win over Bury – although he did miss Tony Lormor’s goal whilst dealing with his daughter’s travel sickness from the trip down!

Gordon’s funeral is due to take place at 4.50pm on December 21 at Chesterfield Crematorium.

Our thoughts are with Gordon’s family and friends at this difficult time.
