Bim Pepple spoke to 1866+ after signing for the Spireites on loan from Luton Town, saying: “I’m delighted. I’ve been excited to get it done, so to be here and have my first day is exciting.”
Pepple won Southend United’s Player of the Month award in both October and November, so he was clearly a popular figure at Roots Hall.
Commenting on his time at Southend, he said: “It was good. I hit a good run of form, and it was appreciated over there. I’m just focused on bringing that to League Two.
“It was an enjoyable time at Southend, I loved my time there, the fans, the coaching staff, all my team-mates and now I’m looking to take that form and bring it here.”
The 22-year-old striker played on loan at Grimsby Town in the 2022/23 season, so he is no stranger to League Two.
Reflecting on his time with the Mariners, Pepple said: “I was 19, I had just come from Canada, maybe it was a bit of a shock at the time, getting used to the game.
“I’d like to think that now, after a couple more years on loan, I’m a bit better prepared to show everyone what I’m capable of at this level.”
When asked to describe his playing style, Pepple commented: “I would say I’m very busy. I don’t let the defence rest, I like to run around and get stuck in. I’m quite powerful to hold up the ball and score goals.”
Pepple started at the SMH Group Stadium for Bromley last season in a game which saw the Spireites win 2-0.
Recalling the game, he said: “I can remember the atmosphere and the fans were lively. It’s a nice pitch, so it’s not too different as I was only here a year ago, but I’m excited to be on the home side now.
“I don’t know anyone personally, but as soon as I heard of the interest, I started googling away, watching highlights, so I know a bit and I think it will suit me well and I’ll integrate well.
“Every time I’ve spoken to the gaffer, it’s been good. I’m excited to work with him.”
