“I want to get promoted and that’s the main thing for me”

Kyle McFadzean spoke exclusively to 1866+ after completing his move to the club, saying: “I’m delighted to get it over the line now and I can’t wait to get started.

“The main thing is to come here and try and help the lads get what they want to do and that’s to get promoted. That’s a big thing for me.

“Not only that, but to come back and start playing football again. First and foremost, I’ve got to get in the team. Most importantly, we need to get to where we all want to be and that’s in the play-offs or even in the top three.”

Discussing his connection to the squad, Kyle said: “Tom Naylor is one of my closest mates. I speak to Tom nearly every day and he’s been telling me about the gaffer a lot. He says he’s probably the best he’s worked for I’m excited to sign for him!

“Tom’s been on my case for quite a bit, but for various reasons it’s taken longer than it should have. I’m just buzzing and can’t wait to get started.”

Kyle then spoke about his attributes and what he can add to the squad, saying: “I’ll bring my experience, but I’m a winner and that’s what I want to bring to the group.

“I want to get promoted and that’s the main thing for me. I’ve come here to help the team. I’d be a failure if we didn’t get promoted and that’s what I want to do.

“I think a club like Chesterfield should be higher up. I know the club have worked their way back into the league and they were flying last year. I think there’s just been a little stumbling block with the amount of injuries, but everybody’s coming back now so I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and just getting started.

“I know we’re seven points off the play-offs at the minute, So if we can put a good run together, who knows what can happen.”
