“It’s a good feeling within the squad”

Assistant manager Danny Webb gave his thoughts ahead of the Spireites’ Vertu Trophy clash with  Wigan Athletic.
He said: “It’s a good feeling within the squad, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a brighter place to come into work in the morning than after the Harrogate or Exeter game.
“A win certainly does make everyone’s mood a little bit brighter, but after the initial brightness and a bit of laughing and joking, it’s back down to work because we’ve got a game to win and then it’s all focus on Carlisle.”
Looking ahead to the Wigan match, Danny said: “They’ll be a good team, their manager said after the game how they want to go full-hit against us. They’ll need a win, they are a big club who want to be at the top end of League One and regardless of what your league for is like, you’re only three or four games away from Wembley.
“You get good financial reward by winning this game so there’s no reason not to want to win it, in my opinion. They’ve got some good players. It’s nice to go in as underdogs for a change, but unlike against Exeter, we want to come out with the underdog getting the victory.”
