HEAD COACH

Originally joining as the club’s head of football in June 2021, Dean Brennan was appointed head coach in September of the same year. In the following years, the Irishman turned around Barnet’s fortunes – taking them away from the relegation zone and making them promotion contenders. After a bitterly disappointing defeat in the play-off semi-finals to Solihull Moors in May 2024, the Bees stormed the National League the season after to secure a return to the EFL after seven years away.

Last five meetings:

Barnet 0-2 Chesterfield – National League – Tuesday, February 27, 2024

Chesterfield 4-2 Barnet – National League – Saturday, November 11, 2023

Barnet 3-0 Chesterfield – National League – Saturday, January 26, 2023

Chesterfield 3-1 Barnet – National League – Friday, August 26, 2022

Barnet 1-4 Chesterfield – National League – Saturday, January 15, 2022

The last meeting between the two sides saw the Spireites take a massive step towards the National League title. Barnet, who were the closest side to Chesterfield in the table, couldn’t stop Michael Jacobs and Will Grigg from finding the back of the net. The victory for Paul Cook’s side meant that the promotion back to the EFL was in striking distance.
