Mat Sadler previously had two spells with Walsall throughout his playing career, making over 100 appearances for the club. After announcing his retirement upon the conclusion of his second spell, he went made the journey into coaching. An interim spell in charge at Walsall led to his permanent appointment in May 2023.

KEY PLAYER
Jamille Matt was Walsall’s second top goalscorer in the 2024/25 season, behind Stoke City loanee Nathan Lowe. He also captained the side for the majority of the campaign, with his commanding presence up top causing trouble for defences.

After leaving Birmingham City, Ryan Stirk joined Walsall in the summer of 2023. Stirk made 97 appearances for the club over his two seasons with the Saddlers. He helped them to the League Two play-off final last term.
Stirk left Walsall at the end of the 2024/25 season and joined fellow League Two side Chesterfield. He has impressed in the midfield during pre-season and is looking to continue that form into this term.
