The Spireites travel to North London to face Barnet on Saturday at The Hive, in the hope of extending their unbeaten run to seven games.
Three wins and three draws make up the Spireites’ current streak without a loss, with wins coming against Salford, Bristol Rovers and Gillingham.
Barnet have recorded two wins, two draws, and two losses in their previous six games, including an on the road win against Accrington Stanley last time out.
In the Spotlight
In Barnet’s previously mentioned win over Accrington Stanley, ex-Spireite Kabongo Tshimanga netted the late winner.
Since joining Barnet from Crawley Town in January, Tshimanga has hit the back of the net on five occasions.
Most notably, he scored a brace on his debut for the Bees which proved to be vital in a 3-2 victory over Oldham Athletic.
The gaffer’s record
Paul Cook has faced Barnet 11 times in his managerial career, winning seven of those games.
The reverse fixture this season ended with all three points staying in North Derbyshire, after a Lee Bonis brace and a late goal from Liam Mandeville to seal the 3-1 win.
Cook’s last visit to The Hive saw the Spireites win 2-0 in a top-of-the-table clash, a result which set his side well on their way to winning the National League title in 2024.
Man in the middle
William Davis will officiate this fixture, assisted by Karl Sear, Ryan Whitaker and the fourth official, David Nicholson.
This will be Davis’ first time taking charge of a fixture involving the Spireites. His only other League Two fixture this season was Shrewsbury’s 1-0 win over Notts County.
In 82 games, Davis has given out 219 yellow cards and ten red cards.
Kieron Dyer’s thoughts
“We had great battles with them in the National League. They’re a team that are really fearless. They’re one of the most exciting teams in the league.
“They get real numbers in the box; they’re very brave. Most teams, when they’re attacking, they’ll leave a 2v1 against Will Grigg at the back or Lee Bonis or a Freddie Ladapo.
“Barnet are really brave, and they go man for man at the back and try and attack with so many numbers. That’s why most of their games are really exciting. So, we expect a really hard game. We have to be at our best defensively as well.”
