The Spireites’ second fixture over the Easter period sees Bradford City visit the SMH Group Stadium this afternoon (3pm).
Following a goalless draw on Friday, Chesterfield now sit just three points outside of the League Two play-offs.
On the other hand, Bradford are behind Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers in the automatic promotion places.
Head-to-head
The two sides have met a total of 100 times since November of 1903 with the Blues winning 24 times, the Bantams recording 48 victories and 28 contests ending in a draw.
Chesterfield have not won a fixture at home since April 2007 when a Jamie Ward double and a Mark Bower own goal resulted in a 3-0 win at Saltergate.
Bradford came away from the reverse fixture in December with a slender win. Armando Dobra opened the scoring but Bobby Pointon and Antoni Sarcevic secured all three points for the home side at Valley Parade.
Manager – Graham Alexander
Graham Alexander was named Bradford City manager in November 2023, just a month after leaving MK Dons.
Alongside the two aforementioned clubs, the Scotsman has also had managerial spells at Preston North End (caretaker), Fleetwood Town, Scunthorpe United, Salford City and Motherwell.
Alexander has a record of 44 wins in 89 games as Bradford manager and had previously won the League Two play-offs with Fleetwood and the National League play-offs with Salford.
With just three games to go, Bradford have their destiny in their own hands as three wins would secure a return to League One.
Player-in-focus
Bobby Pointon has been very impressive for Bradford City this season, racking up 47 appearances.
He has also contributed with seven goals as well as six assists, including a goal in the reverse fixture against Chesterfield.
The Bradford-born player can operate across many positions in the midfield, both centrally as well as on the wing.
