Chesterfield manager James Rowe has made his second signing, bringing Jak McCourt back to the club on a short-term deal.
The 25-year-old midfielder was previously with the Spireites during the 2017/18 season before joining Swindon Town. He was latterly at Macclesfield Town until the club’s demise.
McCourt is keen for the fans to see the best of him after playing for the club at a difficult time during his first stint.
He said: “I want to put things right and get us up the table for a promotion push. I enjoyed my time here, even though it wasn’t the best season for everyone involved with the club.
“I’ve come on a lot as a player and in my personal life too. I’m delighted to get the deal done and I can’t wait to get going.”
McCourt, who will wear the number 17 shirt, started out at Leicester City before spells at Barnsley and Northampton Town.
