Skipper’s contract extended

Jamie Grimes has pledged his future to the club by signing a contract extension until the summer of 2025.

The Spireites captain is delighted to have put pen-to-paper. He said: “I have loved my time here and long may it continue. I am determined to help get this club back to where it belongs.”

Grimes has been at Chesterfield since the summer of 2021, when he was signed after leaving Hereford.

The 32-year-old defender’s previous clubs include Ebbsfleet United, Macclesfield Town, Cheltenham Town and Dover Athletic after starting out at Swansea City.
