The Spireites recorded a 3-1 win over Dorking Wanderers at the Technique Stadium.
A first-half penalty from Kabongo Tshimanga and second-half goals from Armando Dobra and Joe Quigley were enough to seal all three points for the Spireites.
Dobra had the Spireites’ first chance when he cut in from the left-hand side, getting his shot away, which was saved at the near post.
The Spireites came close again when Dobra threaded the ball through to Tshimanga, but his effort was saved well by Joe Walsh in the Dorking goal.
Tshimanga had another chance after working the ball onto his left foot inside the box, but his shot was parried away by Walsh.
Dorking’s Jack Jebb tried his luck from around 25 yards out with a curling effort that went narrowly wide.
Akwasi Asante forced a great save from Walsh from close range, following a corner.
The Spireites won a penalty in stoppage time in the first half when Tshimanga was dragged down in the penalty area.
Tshimanga gave the Spireites the lead from the spot in the second minute of stoppage time, slotting the ball into the bottom right.
The Spireites went into half time with a 1-0 lead.
Liam Mandeville almost doubled the Spireites’ lead early in the second half, he made a tricky run into the box and got a shot away with his left foot, but his attempt was saved.
Dorking equalised in the 58th minute though James McShane when the ball was pulled back to him inside the penalty area, and he calmly slotted the ball past Ross Fitzsimons.
Mandeville tried his luck from the edge of the area with a low driven shot, but his effort flew wide of the post.
The Spireites regained the lead in the 84th minute. Jeff King drilled the ball across goal from the right-hand side, the ball found its way to the back post where Dobra was there to tap it in.
Substitute Quigley doubled the Spireites’ lead in the 86thminute. Mandeville drove into the box from the left-hand side and gave the ball to Quigley, who turned in the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Attention will now turn to next Tuesday’s away trip to fellow promotion hopefuls Wrexham.
