Spireites come from behind to win

The Spireites came from a goal behind to beat Wealdstone 3-1 at the SMH Group Stadium, making it six wins on the bounce.

Second-half goals from Berry, Liam Mandeville and Michael Jacobs meant the Spireites collected all three points.

Berry, Jeff King and Ollie Banks all came into the starting line-up.

King forced a fantastic save from Jed Ward in the Wealdstone goal, following a free kick from around 25 yards out.

Will Grigg found himself one one-on-one with Ward, and tried to take it around him, but the keeper did well to grab hold of the ball.

The Spireites dominated the opening 25 minutes, recycling possession well and keeping good pressure on Wealdstone.

After a good move, the ball fell to Banks on the edge of the box, but his attempt went just over the bar.

Against the run of play, Wealdstone took the lead in the 34th minute. The ball was fizzed across the box and found Kyle Smith at the back post who knocked it in.

The Spireites went into half time trailing 1-0.

The Spireites equalised in the 52nd minute. The ball fell to Berry inside the penalty area and he side-footed the ball into the bottom corner to score his first goal for the Spireites.

The Spireites took the lead in the 66th minute. Berry fizzed the ball across the box, which narrowly missed Grigg, but Mandeville was behind him to strike the ball home.

Jacobs doubled the Spireites’ lead in the 68th minute with a fantastic solo goal. Jacobs drove through the middle, beat one man, and struck the ball with the outside of his foot into the bottom corner.

Substitute Joe Quigley forced a good save from Ward after intercepting a loose ball.

Sean Adarkwa pulled a goal back for Wealdstone in the 96th minute, after calming slotting the ball past Harry Tyrer.

Attention will now turn to next Tuesday’s away trip to Rochdale.
