The Spireites secured back-to-back league wins with a comfortable 4-0 away victory at the Peninsula Stadium against ten-man Salford City.
Hakeeb Adelakun was sent off midway through the first period before Liam Mandeville and Bim Pepple scored just before the break.
Armando Dobra added a third just shy of the hour mark and Mandeville scored just before full time to make sure of the victory.
Paul Cook only made one change to the team that was victorious over Newport County on Saturday – Jenson Metcalfe replaced Darren Oldaker.
Chesterfield started off brightly, enjoying a large share of possession in the early exchanges of the first half.
Metcalfe set-up the first chance of the half as he found Mandeville in the area, but the midfielder could only fire wide of the mark.
Boot had to be alert soon after to deny the Salford counter-attack – Francis Okoronkwo broke through and saw his low effort blocked by the shot-stopper.
Kelly N’Mai came close to scoring the opening goal of the night; his powerful 18-yard attempt forced Boot into a full-stretch save.
In the. 24th minute, Salford were reduced to ten men. Adelakun was involved in an off-the-ball incident with Jack Sparkes and gave referee Darren Drysdale no choice but to show the attacked the red card.
This allowed the Blues to take full control of the game, but a goal still proved elusive. Dobra and Pepple found the home defence and goalkeeper in the way.
However, the Spireites would find the breakthrough in the 40th minute. Sparkes’ pinpoint cross was acrobatically volleyed beyond Jones by Mandeville for his first goal of the season.
Four minutes later, Pepple added a second goal. Another Sparkes delivery was headed down by Naylor allowing the Canadian striker to turn and lash home from close-range.
As the teams came out for the second half, Janoi Donacien was brought on for Ryheem Sheckleford.
Sparkes clashed with the post early into the half and couldn’t continue. He was replaced by Lewis Gordon.
Just before the hour mark, Chesterfield added a third. Banks latched onto the ball before racing down the right-hand side; his perfect cross found Dobra and he rounded Jones and fired the ball into an empty net.
The Spireites dominated proceedings after the goal with Metcalfe coming close to adding a fourth from range on a couple of occasions.
Ryan Colclough, Dylan Duffy and Michael Olakigbe came on as the half went on, replacing Dobra, Pepple and Banks.
As the game ticked into the sixth minute of added time, Mandeville drilled an effort beyond Jones to add his second of the game.
The victory moves Chesterfield up to 14th place ahead of Saturday’s trip to Notts County.
