Danny Webb highlighted the need for the Spireites to be on top of their game when they welcome out-of-form Eastleigh.
Speaking to the media, he said: “They’ve only won one in their last six and [Lee Bradbury] will obviously be very disappointed with that because they were really flying.
“For a team that had one of the best defensive records up until recently, to concede eight in their last two is something that they will all be disappointed with.
“We’ve got to make sure we don’t take anything for granted because they are a very good team. Lee’s done a very good job there and they are in the play-offs as it stands.
“They’ve got some good players and up until the last couple of games they were very good defensively. A direct rival cannot be taken lightly at all.“
Chesterfield have only lost once in their last nine games but have struggled to string together a run of wins at the Technique Stadium.
Webb spoke about what the key could be to beating a team like Eastleigh at home, saying: “Taking your chances. Against York, it was the first time all season that we have scored first and lost – it doesn’t soften the blow at all.
“We’ve got to play better. If we play well, we usually win. Whatever happens tomorrow, whatever the performance, we have got to win.”
A win will take the Blues to third place before Woking play Notts County in the later game.
Webb commented on why moving into a guaranteed play-off semi-final place is a good incentive for the squad.
He said: “It’s an opportunity to go third regardless because they kick-off later. If we win, it will be everyone get a cup of tea, sit down and watch that game, and we will be cheering on Notts County for the first time.
“That’s the incentive. At the final whistle if we win, we go third. After that things take care of itself. The here and now is that we have to go and win.”
