Assistant manager Danny Webb spoke with the media ahead of Tuesday’s away fixture against FC Halifax Town and he began by reflecting on last week’s loss at Bromley.
He said: “We can’t use the pitch as an excuse. We were 3-2 up and without doubt we look back and we should’ve held out.
“We have to put it behind us quickly though and move on to the next game. We could’ve defended better for sure, but that’s football.
“Everyone loses games once in a while and that’s that but it doesn’t mean we can’t strive to keep improving. It’s all about the next game now.”
Webb then gave a snippet of team news going into the fixture. “We’re looking at the lads before the game,” he said.
“It’s a quick turnaround but everyone looks okay. We’re hoping James Berry will be able to travel with us so that’s a positive.
“Ryan Colclough and Miguel Freckleton are still out for this game. We still have a strong squad and are hoping to bounce straight back.”
Finally, Webb touched on Halifax and their threats, saying: “They’ve got some good players.
“It’s going to be a real tough game that’s for sure; they’re a top side. They’ll be looking to get into the play-offs so will be well up for it.
“We’re focusing on ourselves as always though. It’s about us turning up and doing what we can to get three points.
“We’re approaching the game exactly the same and hoping to get back to winning ways.”
