Ahead of today’s game at home to Aldershot Town, assistant-manager Danny Webb began by reflecting on last week’s 1-0 away win at Hartlepool United.
He said: “It was a fantastic away performance. We dug deep and grinded out the result.
“It was a proper classic away performance; Hartlepool are a good team and we nullified their chances, which we were delighted with.
“It wasn’t a classic game for the neutral but we got the three points and that’s the important thing.
“It’s another step in the right direction and we’re ready for the next game now.”
He then previewed the fixture with Aldershot Town.
“It’s going to be a real tough one,” he said.
“They have some serious threats; three real good attacking players.
“I’m excited for the game, I think it’s going to be a good battle and the lads are ready for it.
“It’s going to be another one that we have to turn up for, we’ve won nothing yet.
“We’ve got to keep going and we’ve got to make sure that we stay level-headed.
“We’re in a good position but anything can happen – we have to keep going.”
Finally, Webb had words of praise for the supporters.
He said: “The supporters have been fantastic this season.
“It’s not even a surprise anymore when we sell-out or have a big away following.
“We get incredible support home and away, each week, without fail.
“It’s a festive fixture and the fans will turn up and once again they’ll be important for us during the game.
“We appreciate them a lot and thank them for all their support.”
