Three players from the women’s academy have been selected for the National All-Star Team trials. The players who have earned the exciting opportunity are Harrison, Butterworth and Pinkney after impressive starts to the campaign.
The trials give women footballers an opportunity to play games against other regions with players from various clubs, such as Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool.
On her season so far, Butterworth said: “In the first team we have done well. (The women’s academy) are third in the league. I have 13 goals so far and my aim is to get 20.”
Speaking about the trials, she said: “It is a good opportunity because we are playing against higher division players.”
Pinkney has been delighted with the campaign, also. She said: “(It has been) good. I got into the first team earlier on in the season which was a great achievement. I have beaten my goal target but want to keep scoring.”
