We’re delighted to announce that season tickets have now hit the 4,000-mark!
This fantastic number surpasses last season’s season ticket total – once again showing the fantastic support for the club.
Carl Harrison from North Wingfield was the person to purchase the 4,000th ticket, but it wasn’t for himself. He bought the season ticket for his two-year-old grandson, Artie.
Artie has been born into a family of Spireites and has recently got to the age where he can begin to understand, watch and follow football.
Carl purchased half-season tickets for his other three grandchildren, Harper, Amaya and Teddy midway through last season, but Artie was still too young to attend all the games.
The family have a strong connection to Chesterfield FC, with Carl’s daughter, Leah Harrison, playing for and captaining the Chesterfield FC Women’s first team.
Carl described Artie’s delight when he found out about his season ticket, saying: “He was so excited. I was in the Club Superstore, purchasing new shirts for all my grandchildren and I thought I’d check to see if there was any space next to me and my other three grandchildren and there was.
“So, I bought him a shirt and a season ticket and it’s fair to say he was delighted!
“He loves football and is finally at the age where he can understand it, which is great for us all.
“He’s so excited to come to the football with Harper, Amaya and Teddy. We’re already looking forward to the start of the season.
“I believe in the kids supporting their local team as it gives them a sense of pride in where they come from.”
Artie’s favourite player is his auntie Leah in the women’s team but he also likes Ryan Colclough from the men’s first team.
Everyone at Chesterfield FC wishes the whole family a fantastic experience this season watching the Spireites.
