The Spireites end February with another away fixture this afternoon, this time travelling to The Nigel Eady County Ground to take on Swindon Town.
Ian Holloway’s side sit 17th place in the table – 12 points above the relegation zone and 11 points away from the play-offs.
The Robins have been in good form since the start of December but have failed to win in their last two.
Head-to-head
Swindon Town edge the head-to-head record, winning 24 of the 52 meetings. The first game between the two sides was in January 1935.
The last five fixtures, however, have mostly gone the way of the Blues, with three wins and two draws.
Armando Dobra scored Chesterfield’s first EFL goal in over six years in the previous meeting. Will Wright’s equaliser was enough to give Swindon a share of the spoils.
Manager – Ian Holloway
Ian Holloway is a name that will be familiar to a large chunk of English football fans, mainly for his time at Blackpool.
He spent 19 years as a player, winning promotions with Bristol Rovers and Wimbledon.
In his second spell as a player at Bristol Rovers, he joined as player/manager and began his foray into his management career.
He won promotions with QPR, Blackpool and Crystal Palace – the latter two being promotion to the Premier League.
Holloway was brought into Swindon to help guide them away from relegation and the 61-year-old looks to have navigated that successfully.
Player-in-focus
Harry Smith has been as striker in search of goals ever since breaking his two-month goalless streak in October.
His 14 goals in 30 appearances have shaken away the worries of potential relegation and put Swindon within an outside chance of making the play-offs.
His goalscoring record over the past couple of seasons prove that the marksman is someone to watch.
