Update on injured quartet

Ahead of the fixture against Salford City, Danny Webb provided an update on four players recovering from injury.

Will Grigg was forced off in the first half at Colchester United with an innocuous injury.

However, Webb revealed that the striker may not be out for as long as first thought. He said: “There’s a bit of damage in his abductor, sort of near his groin area.  It’s not majorly bad and it’s going to be probably a couple of weeks.”

Dylan Duffy has not played since the 2-2 home draw with Crawley at the end of August after suffering a knee injury.

“I think Dylan will be back training Monday,” Webb stated. “He did a fitness test yesterday, which is called the ‘Bronco Test’. It’s a horrible test. Welcome back, Dylan, shall we say?”

Gunner Elliott suffered an ankle injury in a training session and has been out since the middle of August.

Like Duffy, the Matla youth international is back on the grass at the Erwin Training Ground but will be a “week or two longer”.

Lastly, Luke Butterfield has been recuperating from a broken foot he suffered against Mansfield Town in August.

After an operation, the midfielder has now got his protective boot off and is on the road to recovery

“He’s back in and around the building, which is great. He had an operation, and he was obviously putting his feet up. So, he’ll be a bit longer than a few weeks, believe me.”
