With so many academy games happening during the week, it can be difficult to keep track of how well the teams are doing.
This article provides an easy rundown of the results for you to follow and keep track of all the Chesterfield teams.
U7s
Chesterfield U7s took on Tupton Ivanhoe in an exciting match-up, building from their previous few fixtures.
U8s
A good team performance from Chesterfield U8s. The whole team was given the MOTM award, walking away with their heads held high.
U9s
Chesterfield U9s faced Staveley Miners Welfare FC in the NDYFL, putting in a dominant performance, which included some excellent passing phases of play, creativity and goals.
U10s
Chesterfield U10s battled against Yorkshire RTC Whites in the JPL, fighting well, and winning every second ball. A brilliant day for the young Spireites.
U12s
Chesterfield U12s welcomed 3FC Academy, in a 7-1 victory in the JPL.
Following a few weeks without a goal, Todd lashed in four goals against 3FC, with Wildman, Manlove and Humphryschipping in to take home a convincing win.
The visitors scored early, seeing them only behind 2-1 in the first 20 minutes. This changed throughout the game, with young Spireites grabbing a strong hold on the tie and finding their feet.
Good decisions in and out of possession, plus an all-round strong performance, saw the side deserve their 7-1 win.
U13s
Game One
With a convincing 4-1 win away to Scarborough Athletic, Chesterfield U13s were awarded with fish & chips with a seaside view – the perfect end to the perfect gameday.
Having gone a goal down due to a slow start, the young Spireites bounced back in style, completing the comeback through a Clayton brace, Chapman, and Oswald.
Game Two
It was a tough day for Chesterfield U13s as they took on Rushden & Diamonds, losing 4-1 in the JPL.
A tough one to take for the young Spireites, scoring their only goal in the remaining minutes of the match through Charles.
U14s
Game One
Chesterfield U14s came from behind twice to defeat Yorkshire RTC 5-2, in a tight JPL affair, with goals coming from a Sheppard hat-trick, Turner and Flude.
Following a slow start, the young Spireites were punished with an early goal but turned it around to go into the break even.
Much like the first-half, Chesterfield quickly conceded after the break, going 2-1 down, but reacted well to equalise with one player sinbinned.
From then, the home side took control, turning the screw and adding three quickfire goals to end the game comfortably.
Game Two
Hague built on his performance from last week, with another goal against Oxford Skills but this was only a consolation goal in a 5-1 defeat.
It was a tough day all round for the young Spireites, only travelling with 11 players and journeying for most of the day. One to forget for Chesterfield U13s.
U15s
Chesterfield U15s performed well against difficult opposition, as they took on a strong Solihull side in a 5-2 defeat.
After an impressive first half, the Spireites were still in the game and went into the break at 1-1 – a goal coming through Watson. The team fought hard in a physical battle with Solihull and earned their draw at half-time.
Sadly, for the Spireites, the side dropped off and the quality of the opponents shone through in the second half.
Cancello scored for the fifth week in a row, and the side has multiple chances to minus the deficit, but the ball just wouldn’t go in.
“We dropped off a little in the second half, but we still had some good chances to make the scoreline closer, albeit Solihull deserved the win,” said the U15s coach.
“I have seen good improvement over the three games we have played versus Solihull this season.
“I feel that is testament to the lads’ desire to get better.”
