The accounts for the year ended June 30, 2020, have been sent to shareholders ahead of next Monday’s AGM, which will be held online.
In the chairman’s statement, Mike Goodwin starts by thanking his predecessor, Mike Warner, for his long service to the club. He adds that Spireites have much to thank Dave Allen for, “not least the way he handled the end of his tenure”.
Commenting on the change of ownership, Mike says: “That change to a community-based business model supported by the two local councils responsible for our town is the only way forward. I am grateful for the support of those local authorities.
“I know we can count on the support of a large band of very loyal fans, but I hope that everyone in the north of the county will back us going forward.”
In his statement, chief executive John Croot points out there will be a comprehensive analysis of all commercial contracts, adding that steps will be taken to review all areas of the club’s revenue streams.
He says: “This will be across football business, conference and banqueting, and commercial. It is hoped and expected that the new model and change of ownership will bring goodwill from the existing supporter and commercial partner base. On top of this a new marketing strategy will allow an increase in revenue over all areas.”
