Chairman Mike Goodwin has written an updated message to supporters after the £10,000 crowdfunding target was achieved…
Spireites, you guys are amazing. It’s only 48 hours ago that we asked for your assistance to help purchase some performance kit for James Rowe and you have literally smashed it. As I am writing, the total is over £11k and still growing.
It shows that this club has an incredible supporter base, especially considering the past few years. Every club needs its fans to come together from time to time but I have to say that the way you have reacted to this appeal is stunning and emotional.
We have ordered the equipment that James needed and he has offered to host an evening at the Technique Stadium to demonstrate how it works once government guidelines allow.
All of the donations, whatever the amount, that have been received are tremendous, especially during a difficult period for people, but I would like to make special mention of two of those donations.
Paul Goodwin’s contribution of £2,000 is amazing and shows the generosity of him and Kimberley and Bridge Inn Blues Away Travel. The other is Gary Bown, who made a personal contribution of £750, which again is generous beyond belief.
Over 300 donations have been received so far and I cannot thank you enough on behalf of the board, the executive managememt team, the manager and his staff, together with the players. I will announce what the additional funds will be spent on as we go along.
Once again, many, many thanks.
Mike
