Fans from Germany attend match

It was great to welcome three of our fans from Germany to the Dorking Wanderers game.

Chesterfield is twinned with Darmstadt and Howard Borrell developed links with fans of the local club SV Darmstadt 98 over 15 years ago.

Harry, Wolfgang and Patrick are all season ticket holders at the home of the Lilies (the club’s nickname) and are able to visit as their season has had to be re-scheduled to accommodate the World Cup, although they normally have a winter break of four weeks at this time.

All three have visited before – including a televised Jack Lester master class v Hereford at Saltergate – but were keen to return and take in their first game since Paul Cook returned.

Currently Darmstadt sit top of Bundesliga 2 and are undefeated in their last 16 games. Let’s hope at the end of the season both of our clubs are celebrating!
