Gyasi signing completed

Highly sought-after attacker Michael Gyasi becomes Paul Cook’s latest signing, joining from King’s Lynn Town for an undisclosed fee.

Subject to National League and FA approval, the 22-year-old moves to the Technique Stadium after spending the last 18-months at The Walks.

Gyasi said: “I’m excited to get going. It took a while to get done but I’m happy to be here. I want to get my goal tally up as much as possible, come her and enjoy myself.

“When I scored here [last season] the fans were booing me – the atmosphere was crazy. Hopefully I can for Chesterfield now and get a few more goals.

“When I came here, I enjoyed every minute of it playing against Chesterfield. Being in the Chesterfield team now, I know that I will definitely enjoy it.

“I’m quick, good in one-versus-one situations and I score goals. I just want to get going, get as many games as I can and get some goals.”

The winger started his career with the academies at Northampton Town and Chelsea’s before going to Leicester City as part of their youth set-up.

Gyasi, who is both German and Ghanaian, enjoyed spells at Nuneaton Borough, Bedford Town, Barton Rovers, Phonix Lubeck and St Ives Town after leaving the Foxes.

He moved to King’s Lynn in December 2020, where he got his first taste of National League football with the Linnets.

Gyasi moved on loan to Dover Athletic for the second half of last season – impressing opposition fans with his pace, skill and composure.

The forward scored the opening goal in Dover’s 3-2 defeat to Chesterfield at the Technique Stadium in April, as well as a hat-trick away at Wrexham.
