Long-time club commercial partner National Windscreens will sponsor the matchday commentary on 1866 Sport during the forthcoming season.
National Windscreens – a local company with a national reputation – first linked-up with the club in 1986 and have continued to sponsor the Spireites ever since.
Commenting on their latest sponsorship, National Windscreens’ regional director Bob Pearson said: “I think it was the next thing to do. We’ve sponsored everything else from time-to-time and it was a good opportunity to put our name out there.
“The club is at the heart of the community. It’s very important for the area and the fans that the sponsorship continues.”
Bridget Ball, Chesterfield’s marketing manager, thanked Bob and National Windscreens for their support, adding: “Our commentary was very well received last season, with thousands of listeners for every match.
“With that sort of reach, it provides companies with an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of their brand.”
1866 Sport commentator Phil Tooley added: “Bob has been a great supporter.
“The first advert that Bob put in the programme back in the 1980s was when I was programme editor. One way or another, we go back a long way together.”
1866 Sport is the club’s in-house online radio station, providing exclusive commentary on every Chesterfield match, home and away. It is on air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
