Hollis extends stay at Chesterfield

Haydn Hollis has pledged his future to the club by signing a contract extension.

The defender has been rewarded after impressing in Chesterfield’s revival under James Rowe.

Commenting on his new deal, Hollis said: “I’m delighted. It’s a great place to be and when I was offered the chance to extend my contract, it was a no-brainer for me.”

After being left out of the side at the start of the season, the 28-year-old was recalled following Rowe’s appointment and he has seized the opportunity.

Hollis said: “You’ve got to see the bigger picture and know that if you do get a chance, you’ve got to take it. I’m very grateful to the manager for giving me that chance.

Hollis initially joined Chesterfield on loan from Forest Green Rovers in August 2018 before signing permanently in the summer of 2019.
