New signing Akwasi Asante has praised manager James Rowe’s man-management skills.
The pair have known each other for a decade after first linking up at Birmingham City when Asante was a youngster and Rowe was an academy coach.
They kept in touch and were reunited in the summer when Asante signed for Gloucester City.
The 28-year-old striker has thrived under Rowe this season, scoring eight goals in ten appearances.
Commenting on Rowe’s qualities, Asante said: “He has got good man-management skills and I really enjoy working for him. I’d say he’s brought the best out of me so far this season.
“The manager speaks to me a lot during the week and after games, keeping me on my toes and letting me know how I’m getting on.
“It’s a massive challenge but I do believe we’ve got the right man here. This could be the turning point for the club.”
